| In response to some recent questions as to whether or not I'm still around, I'm here!!!! Haven't posted in, like, 10 months ......and
a ton of stuff has happened since then! Just a little update (for those
that don't have Facebook) I got married in July, have started applying
to medical school, and have interviewed at three of the four places I
applied. My first choice right now is Kirksville College of Osteopathic
Medicine in Kirksville, MO. It's basically in the middle of nowhere,
about 3 hours NW of St. Louis. The school (as far as building go) is,
well, just okay. But they're building a new building, which looks to be
really cool, and it'll be done by the time I would start classes there.
The faculty, staff, and students that we met are absolutely wonderful!
They made both Scott and I feel really at home, and we both really feel
like that's the best fit for us. I've also interviewed at IU School of
Medicine and Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. I should hear
from AZCOM next week, so we'll see what happens. IU doesn't have to
tell me anything until June, so I'm not really expecting to hear
anything from them anytime soon. So, that's an update on my life and my
future. There may be more to come, but I can't make any promises. There will, however, be a photo of our Christmas tree up here soon, via Leslie's request. Happy Saturday, everyone!

| Updating from the lab, once again after neglecting my Xanga for several
weeks. The first few weeks of school have gone well. As is
expected exams have started this week and will continue next week.
Lucky for me I only have three classes that require tests.
My first one was in my Spanish Culture class today, and I think I did
pretty well. Considering that it is subjective grading and the
professor likes me, I probably will be okay. Micro test on
Monday and a Medical Spanish test next Friday. For some reason
Professor Elmore has decided that Andrea and I are already fluent in
Spanish, so we should do twice the workload of everyone else. We are
taking the same exam as the rest of the class, but then she is also
giving us a few essays to write on top of that. It's not like I need
something else to do, but I guess there's not much I can do about it.
Not a whole lot going on this
weekend..........Rural Health interviews are tomorrow, always a good
time. Then I have tons of Micro studying to do and MCAT studying as
well since I've been too busy this week to fit it in. So I'll probably
be holed up in my room for most of the weekend. Ah, the life of a
Pre-Med crazy..................well, I think that about wraps it up for
me. I am going to work out in a few minutes so I better get going.
That's right, I've been working out three days a week! Gotta fit into
all of these bridesmaid dresses, not to mention my wedding dress!
Hope everyone has a very fun weekend! Adios

| Updating once again........after almost a month of being a slacker.
Anyways, I've been back for about four weeks now. Life back in
the US is good, not incredibly different than the life I had before I
went to Spain; except that Emily and I switched rooms, and now I have a
bunch of wedding craziness to plan. This week is my first week
back in American classes. Let me tell you, it's way different than my
Spanish classes. I guess I can't really compare Micro with any of my
classes over there, but my Spanish culture class is definitely
different. I have Dr. DiSalvo, who is a wonderful person, and one of my
favorite professors. He sometimes rambles on in English, which is a big
switch from the professors who didn't even know English. I also
realized that he speaks Spanish with an American accent, which is odd
because his grandparents came here straight from Spain. My Medical
Spanish class is interesting because you don't have to have any
previous Spanish knowledge to take the class. It's fun to watch most of
the class learn Spanish for the first time, they all get really excited
about it, which makes me remember how much fun I had learning Spanish
at the beginning. Not that I don't enjoy it now, I am thankful for
being a Spanish major every day.
Today and yesterday I have been kind of sickly.
I went home from work yesterday and slept for about three hours
before Council. Then I slept in this morning just to put a little extra
energy in for the day. The plan worked until about an hour ago, when I
started feeling sickly again. Hopefully a quick nap before Audrey's
game will give me enough energy to make it through the rest of the day.
Work has been boring as usual this week. This semester I'm working in
the lab for 20 hours, and also doing an hour's worth of research. That
means I spend a lot of time in here doing nothing. Especially this
week, since no one else is here to generate any messes for me to clean
up. I did have to do quite an overhaul on the lab though, since no one
had been here for at least three weeks to clean it at all. Still, all
that work probably only took me about 8 hours, so I've been frequently
checking my email these past few days.
Well, I think I should go so I can at least
pretend that I'm earning the money they're paying me. Hope everyone has
a fabulous weekend! Hasta luego!

| That's right, two updates in the same week! As of right now I
am halfway done with finals! Wo0t! I had two this morning, one more
tonight, and one tomorrow morning. Within 24 hours I'll be done! Yes!
My first two finals went okay, nothing much I can do about them now, so
I'm just hoping for the best. Luckily, everyone else in my grammar
class had the same difficulties I had with the exam, so maybe our prof
will just let that section slide. I have my last dance class
tonight (yeah, it's true, I'm taking a dance class), which is kind of
sad because it's been a lot of fun learning dances from all over the
world (in Spanish, of course). Friday I have my last lesson with my
English students, and I'll spend the rest of the day packing and
relaxing. Saturday Sara and I are staying in a hotel so we can be
semi-rested when we get to the airport the next day. It's so hard to
believe that my time in Europe is almost over! I guess all good things
must come to an end sometime. Well, I'm starving and need to study for
my next final, so I better get going. Hope you're having a great day!

| Wow, so I seem to be getting slower and slower at updating. This entry
will probably be short, since I only have a few minutes before class.
Last week I traveled to Seville, Cordoba, and Granada. It was an
amazing trip! We saw a ton of stuff, namely the largest Gothic
Cathedral in the world, a world-famous mosque, and La Alhambra. I
posted all of my pictures on my Yahoo! site if anyone is interested.
This week I have class and then finals on Wednesday and Thursday. We
have our end-of-the-year dinner Thursday night, and then I'm done! Too
bad I'm not leaving until Sunday. But, that will give me plenty
of time to pack and say my goodbyes. Finals will probably be really
stressful, but at least they'll be over soon! I have three finals on
Wednesday and only one on Thursday, so as long as I can get through
Wednesday I should be okay. On a random side note, I got a ton of mail
today! Thanks to everyone who has been sending me mail this semester,
it's always exciting to receive a real letter or card! Well, class is
going to start in about five minutes, so I better get going. Hope
everyone is having a great week! Can't wait to see you all again in
just a few days!
